Our Journey
From a single-person import operation to a multi-branch enterprise serving 20,000+ accounts — here is the DRV story.
David R. Vishram established DRV Enterprises Limited with a small import operation on Mombasa Road, importing structural steel and cement from regional suppliers. Initial capital: KES 2.4M.
Acquired the first dedicated warehouse on Mombasa Road Industrial Area — 4,000 m². Expanded into hardware, paints, and waterproofing systems. Registered: CPR/2000/04512.
Launched a dedicated delivery fleet of 10 trucks with GPS tracking. Established direct relationships with LafargeHolcim, Devki Steel, and ARM Cement for unbeatable wholesale pricing.
Opened a 7,500 m² facility in Changamwe to serve coastal infrastructure projects and port logistics. Fleet grew to 22 trucks. Introduced credit accounts for qualifying contractors.
Achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification — the first independent building materials distributor in East Africa to attain this standard. Quality management became a core pillar.
Opened branches in Kisumu (Kondele Industrial Zone) and Thika (Garissa Road), completing a national warehouse network. Active accounts exceeded 12,000.
Deployed a full ERP system for inventory, order management, and delivery tracking. Introduced the Contractor Portal for online ordering and live stock checking.

Head of Operations
BSc Logistics (JKUAT). Manages our 40-truck GPS fleet, 4 warehouses, and same-day dispatch operations. Implemented the barcode inventory system in 2021.
Sales & Trade Director
15 years in B2B construction sales across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Built DRV's contractor loyalty programme and manages 8 regional sales managers.
Head of Technical Services
PhD Civil Engineering (UoN). Leads DRV's free technical advisory service — helping clients specify the right materials for structural integrity and cost efficiency.
